This account is so dusty I could make a veil out of it. Maybe. At least I can't make a coat out of it.
My odd digressions aside, this is what has happened-
College. Finally moved in- greetings from Washington University in Saint Louis!
...okay, that was over a month late. I'm a terrible person. To anyone who cares about the details, this is my schedule:
General Chemistryaka quantum physics with some chemistry thrown in
General Chemistry Lab
Freshman Seminar in the Chemical Sciences
MedPrep
Introduction to Psychology
Calculus II
Art of Poetry (yay!)
So much chemistry. So much. Though my inactivity here is, to be honest, due more to my chronic talking-to-people paralysis than my workload (though I do have two tests next week and why am I here).
In other news, Guild Wars 2 is beautiful. There're many minute details packed into every corner of the world- it's unlike any other game I've ever played in that I can spend a good amount of time just walking around, listening to the NPCs talk and taking in the scenery. I've decided to take time off from playing it in order to focus on my artwork, though. Which seems so far to be influenced by some of GW2's art, notably this one. Don't stop there, though. Do take a look at some of the other pieces they have here. And here.
Finally... in order to get myself more active here, I'm going to start writing poetry analyses/close readings each week. I'm not much of a poet, nor am I much of a critic, but I believe strongly that the key to writing poetry well is reading it well- reading many different styles, from many different poets, and understanding how their poems are put together. There's far more to a good poem than a rhyme and a metaphor or two. The poems I pick will not be from deviantART, but from known/published poets (some fringe poets as well as Frost, Williams, Keats, and so forth), though I do plan on doing some dA poetry features sometime.
That's... pretty much it. My apologies again for vanishing- I really do need to fix that...

Five Flash Fictions
Got what is very possibly an abscessed wisdom tooth. Joy.
Also, going to be taking my own advice tomorrow and forcing myself to write a paragraph of something, and then keep going with it every day. Wonder if I should open a tumblr or Dreamwidth for it. tumblr's community has been seriously trying my patience as of late (apparently now it's ableist to use the word "crippling" to describe major debt or depression, according to the SJWs), but I do like tumblr's customization options more. Maybe I'll just find a way to rig a Sta.sh folder for it.
That's all assuming what I write isn't so horrendously embarrassing that I can't share it, though.
Hell Month is over.
Aka the last month of this semester, finals included. Just a small update to get that last entry off my page.
Made a B+ in a math class after two years of Cs. Thank counseling, friends (in-system and out), and learning to not worry about making As, and focusing on passing and actually doing my best instead.
Physical health is still in the gutters, emotional health has been on the upswing. Got back into painting and drawing (to be uploaded to my other account later), which has been doing wonders for my mood, which hopefully means writing will soon follow.
Currently busy packing for moveout. There's so much to clean! Systemmates would like t

Exposition - The Winding Way
I debated myself on whether this was something worth posting to dA, and eventually decided that I would just post it as a journal rather than a deviation. Here is an essay of sorts written very recently for English 311 (aka Exposition), as part of an assignment on meaning via description--some of you may note parallels between this piece and the most recent Cycles of Calm entry, for which this essay was a good warm-up.

-The Winding Way-
Fairyland is real. I know this because, as a child, I made regular trips into that country during the summer. My family lived on the border between here and there, in a neighborhood of the sort favored b

Ooh, chemistry. <3 Fun stuff. I must admit, I haven't taken any beyond highschool level (damn you mathematics! ) but I do find it fascinating. What have you been learning about so far? Any fun reactions? :3
GW2, that's by Arenanet which is owned by NCSoft, right? Let's hope their game is as popular in Korea as it is here.
